3rd Year of Dance
Gracie had her 3rd dance recital this past May. She has improved by leaps and bounds and I think she will be a dancer! This year she did a tap and a ballet number. The theme of the recital was "I Love the 80s", which was right up my alley! Her tap performance was to the song "I Love Candy" and her ballet performance was to the song "The Best of Friends" from the Fox and the Hound.

First Day of 1st Grade
I can't believe my baby is in FIRST GRADE already!!! Where has the time gone? I remember the day we brought her home and all the feelings that came along with that moment. The pride, the love, the joy, the worry, and the fear of the unknown. I found myself with those same feelings on this first day of the new school year. Our little girl no longer wanted us to walk her into school , but wanted to ride the bus instead. This broke Ron's heart because he was really looking forward to driving her to school and walking her to class each morning. I guess we're no longer cool! HA. She did agree, however, to let us walk her to her class on the first day.
She's is doing beautifully so far this year. She loves her teacher, Ms. Melton and has improved her behavior 100% (knock on wood). She is now attending the After School Program at school instead of going to Day Care and she really enjoys it. Most of her homework is done before she gets home, which helps me out tremendously. She got her first progress report last week. We were super proud with her grades. She got 100% in all subjects, except for Math (98%) and Writing (85%). We were not surprised at the writing grade because she has a terrible handwriting. I believe that she is in such a hurry to finish the assignment, that she is super sloppy and truly doesn't care!
Enjoy the pics!

"That's ENOUGH already!"

It's going to be a WILD and CRAZY year!

HA! He thought he could ruin a perfectly good picture, well........

2009 Spring Fling
I'm catching up. Bear with me! Below are pics from Gracie's preschool Spring Fling. This year it was held in conjuction with our neighborhood fling. Gracie enjoyed all of the activies, especially the dogs!

Let's Go!

The first activity station was "Decorate your own Cookie"

She goes straight for the chocolate!

""Do you like my Sharpay glasses?"
Stopping by for a little swing!
I love Mrs. Wes
and Ms. Newborn
Whoa!
Big Ring Toss

You did it!

Concentrating really hard
An animal shelter was there and Gracie gravitated to their display right away. She wanted to take one of the dogs for a walk. Well, that was one hyper dog and the walk didn't last very long! He was actually walking/running her!

Then we saw this search and rescue dog with his trainer. His name was "Clue". Isn't he beautiful! Gracie couldn't take herself away from him.Slip N Slide
Gracie had her first experience slip and sliding at a friends birthday party this summer. I know, the child has been missing out. The slip and slides of today have come a long way from ours in the good old days. We were in heaven with a big piece of plastic or tarpoleon and some dishwashing detergent! She had a blast. By the end of the day, they were playing in a mud pit!

The birthday girl doesn't look too happy. I guess she wouldn't be with her friend Gracie using her wagon as her limosine. You had to be there.
