Super Speed

***BLOGGER IS DRIVING ME NUTS! IT WON'T LET ME EDIT THE SPACING. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I got a call from Gracie's school last week telling me that she had bumped heads with another child. I want to share the conversation that took place after we had assessed the situation and made sure she was okay.
A little background first. Gracie had her clip pulled a couple of times the week before due to talking in class and running in the bathroom. I thought the infraction for running in the bathroom was kind of strange because the teachers don't go into the bathrooms with the kids, but I didn't question it at the time. Ron and I punished her at home for being punished at school and had several discussions about how her behavior needed to improve and the dangers of running in the bathroom.
Back to the head butting incident.
Me: Gracie, what happened?
Gracie: I was running really, really, really slow and Britton was walking really, really fast and we bumped heads. We had to go to the school nurse and she gave us ice. I have a bigger goose head than Britton.
Me: Did you get your clip pulled?
Gracie: No. No. Mrs. Lawson just sent us to the nurse.
Me: How did the teacher know that you were running in the bathroom two days ago?

Gracie: Well, I knocked down Ava and she went crying to the teacher.
Me: Were you not looking where you were going?
Gracie: Mom, I have SUPER SPEED! I was running so fast that the super speed was swishing in front of my eyes, like swish swish swish, and I didn't see her.
Now, what kind of comeback would you have for that one?

Halloween 2008

I know this post is well past due, but here you go. We spent this Halloween with our Louisiana gang and it was GREAT!!!!! The Johnsons graciously opened their home to us and as usual we had lots of food, foolishness and fun. Ron and I looked like total morons dressed as Tigger and Pooh, but I think everyone was secretly envious of our furry costumes by the end of the night. After all, it was 40 degrees outside. I know Gracie had a much better time trick or treating this year because she had a few partners in crime. William and Gracie had it made in the shade being pushed around in the wagon. That is when they weren't kicking each other or stepping on one another's toes. I tell ya, they fight like brother and sister. They love each other equally the same. We had a great Halloween and I hope we can make this a tradition. Tigger, Belle and Pooh

Making a Pitt Stop at CNN Center

Gracie and I met my friend Julie and her boys at Philips Arena a few weekends ago for the Disney on Ice Show. It was very cool! They featured Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Tinker Bell. After getting over the shock of paying $10 for a snowball (yes you read that right) we were all good. It was so nice to catch up with Julie. We hadn't seen each other in over a year and half.

They did the Monster Mash

Her favorite teacher, Ms. Kensey.

Here are a few pics of Gracie's Halloween party at her dance school. She has been a different Disney Princess each year( 2006 and 2007). I dread the day when she wants to dress as the not -so-innocent Rainbow Brite (wink wink Mel).

I think we found the YAK!!!!

I'm still not sure what this thing is.

The Fall Festival at Gracie's Elementary was a huge success! I'm sure they raised quite a bit of money to put towards the purchase of the much needed playground equipment. Can you believe that playground equipment costs between $50K - $60K!!!! Between chasing Gracie and her friends around the million inflatibles, games, petting zoo, etc., we didn't get many pictures. My favorite is the last one of her and her little friend Evan holding hands. So sweet :)

Tacky Monday

Gracie's school had Tacky Day during spirit week. From the looks of this pose, she obviously thinks I'm the tacky one for taking her picture.
