Blogging Hiatus
Okay, I'm back from my blogging hiatus. Sorry it took so long. Enjoy the new posts.....there are plenty. Just keeping clicking "Older Posts" at the bottom.
SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!
We got our first snow fall on Wednesday night. When I left work there were a few flurries, but the closer I got to home, the bigger the flakes! I was actually getting dizzy driving in it. Snow is so much different from rain. Anyway, when I got home all the kids in the neighborhood were playing outside in the snow. Gracie wasn't pitching a fit to go outside, so we just ignored it. But as I was getting ready to go upstairs to change into our pajamas, I decided that we really needed to go and play . The snow was pretty thick and very fluffy. We attempted to make a little snowman. The next morning it was pretty much all gone.
Today (Saturday) we had several hours of steady snowfall. I figured we would wait until there was alot of accumulation before we went outside, but I guess the ground was too wet because I took a nap for about an hour and by the time I woke up all the snow was gone :(

Ice Skating at Centennial Olympic Park
A few weekends ago we decided to bring Gracie ice skating in Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park! It was the last weekend that the rink was going to be open for the season. Gracie did better on the ice than we had expected. Ron on the other hand, not so good. He wiped out pretty bad and hurt his ankle.....I wish I would have caught that on film. There were lots of kids hanging on to the sides, so we had to venture towards the middle. It was alot of fun and we will definitely do it again next year. After skating we let Gracie play on the playground for a while.

Christmas Morning
NEWMAN

We are parishioners of a little Catholic church in Cartersville, GA. After opening gifts on Christmas morning, we attended mass. Our church is very small and holds about 100 people. We were sitting there waiting for mass to start and this very familiar looking guy walks in. I told Ron....."Look, it's Newman!". He said, "Don't be silly, that's just a guy who looks like him". Well, as we were leaving mass, I happened to be walking along side of him and I heard him talk to his mother. There was no mistaking it.....it was Wayne Knight, the guy who played Jerry Seinfeld's nemesis - Newman. My dad ended up going talk to him and he was a super nice guy. As it turns out, he was born and raised in Cartersville. When I looked him up on the internet, I was amazed to see how many movies he has been in. It's a small world.
Christmas Eve
Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve. Gracie got to open her gifts from everyone but Santa and of course she got too much! My parents and Ron's parents were here for the week of Christmas and it is so sad that I did not get one picture of them :( I actually didn't take very many pictures at all that week. I had to work Christmas Eve and it was hard to get myself organized. This Christmas was definitely better than the past two years because we had family to share it with. We had such a good week with the grandparents.....wish they were closer.
New Friend
Gracie made a great new friend named Christian. He is the nephew of our neighbor and will be moving into the neighborhood with his parents...hopefully in the near future. These pictures were taken after they had come back from their pine cone hunt through the woods behind our house. They were being so silly.
Cookie Swap at The Johnsons
The Johnsons hosted a Christmas cookie swap at their home for the whole Louisiana gang. It was so much fun! Heidi made a delicious shrimp fettucini and jambalya and we all brought our favorite cookies. There were so many cookies that at the end of the night it didn't even look like we had made a dent. Everyone was sent home with large goodie bags. What more could you ask for... great friends and great food! I hope this becomes a yearly tradition. Thanks Heidi and Brian for being such great hosts.
