We have the BEST friends

While recovering from one of Gracie's many illnesses (see post below), we were lounging around in our pjs one dreary morning when my cell phone rang. It was our friend Heidi Johnson asking us if we had heard our door bell ring. Confused, I said no. Then I remembered....our doorbell is broken!!!! She told us to look outside for a surprise. Our dear friends drove all the way from Woodstock (25 minutes away) to bring us homemade cookies and a get well card! I felt so bad that we didn't hear the doorbell, but they assured us that it was a hit and run drop off. How nice is that? We definitely felt the love. Thank you guys!!! Here are some pictures of Gracie with the handmade card from Hannah! The cookies were all gone before I could get a picture.

Enjoying the warmth....for a little while

Gracie and her friend, Hannah T., enjoyed a play date at our park during one of the warmer days last month. It's hard to believe that it actually snowed here the following weekend.

They rode their scooters.
Played on the picnic tables.

Jumped off of the picnic tables.
Thanks, Ms. Heidi, for introducing the Spider to our little girl.
And played in the dirt!

Poor Pitiful

Ever wonder why it's taken me so long to update this blog? I'll give you two good reasons.......Strep and Flu. In the months of February, March and April, Gracie has had the following:

Week One - Pink Eye
Week Two - Strep Throat
Week Three - Costocondritis (Inflammation in the rib cage area and the sternum)
Week Three/Four - Type A Flu
Week Four - Strep Throat
Week Five - Infection of a tube that drains her left eye.
I told the pediatrician that I would just have my paycheck direct deposited to his account!

I'll have some Italian Dressing with a side of Salad please....

Gracie LOOOVES her some salad! She takes after her Daddy. She could eat it with every meal....and she does most of the time. I think she likes the salad dressing more than anything. If she's lucky, she won't inherit the stomach problems her Daddy has, which I'm sure is attributable to too much Italian dressing.

Yes, she drinks any remaining dressing in the end. I know, I know, it's not proper etiquette...but hey, the kid is eating SALAD!

Our Playground

The garage has been a playground of sorts for Gracie this past winter. A good place for her to let out some pent up energy. We discovered how much she has grown in the past year when she tried to get in her Little Tikes car. She couldn't even get her long legs in!
If you can't fit in, use it as a torpedo!!!

Practicing her leaps!!!!

These Boots are made for Scootin'

She just had to ride that scooter when she got home from dancing.....even though it was frigid outside! I sent her upstairs to change from her dancing shoes and she returned in her Hannah Montana cowboy boots. I didn't feel like arguing that day.

Tell us why you think you're the next American Idol....

One wintery night (as evidenced by the winter coat still on), in anticipation of the next season of American Idol, we were treated to a mock audition by our little rising star. As most of our family members know, these such auditions are not complete without the said Randy, Paula and Simon. I'm usually Paula, of course, and Ron is lucky if he can be Randy. We've been playing this charade for quite some time now. As you can see, Gracie totally gets into it. I bet you're not surprised that she loves the attention! We've offered her singing and piano lessons, but she's been firm in saying "I don't need lessons, I know how to do both already!" Gotta love the self confidence. Ahem.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, her favorite Idol this season is......wait for it.....you guessed it......Adam Lambert. My girl is one for Flamboyance.

I have no idea where she picked up the gold medal around her neck. Must be one of her props!

Pinky

Our little daredevil LOVES to jump on the bed. I caught her in the act after a bath one night! You would think that all that jumping would tire her out, right? NOT!!!! She usually gets a second wind around 8:30 - 9:00. P.M. that is.

*** Excuse our bedroom. We still haven't painted and still have no curtains.....4 years later...
