What's Up?

So, I guess you all have been wondering where we've been. Actually the past week or so has been pretty uneventful. Gracie had a case of "Pink Eye" and had to miss 2 days of school. I was one of those bad mothers who tried to send her kid to school (after getting drops from the doctor of course), but got turned away at the door! Unfortunately, this all happened during my close week at work. It wasn't pretty. Today Ron and Gracie both had off for MLK and I had to work. What's new. They went to see "Hotel for Dogs" and Gracie absolutely LOVED it. I know, that poor child needs a dog.
Anyway, I was perusing my old pictures and came across these. Ahhhhhhh, reminds me of the days when Gracie napped. Those days are Looooong Gone.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA comes to Primrose

This morning we were informed that they would be taping a segment for Good Morning America at Gracie's daycare this afternoon. I immediately thought, "Oh my, Gracie looks like a vagabond at the end of the day. That should be interesting." Well sure enough, this is how she looked when I picked her up this evening. I laughed out loud!

Luckily, they didn't tape in her classroom! However, check out the montage below that will appear on GMA next Thursday morning. Gracie's picture appears at around the 1:30 mark in the video.

Primrose Schools opened their 200th school this year and they asked all of their students to record their wish for the children of America. This video was put together with some of the children's wishes, along with pictures of some of the children from the Corporate School (which is the one Gracie attends). A nice wooden box, that plays all of the messages when opened, and shows the slide show at the top will be sent to The President. Very Cool and Very Touching!

They are The Best of Friends

These pictures just make my heart sing. Gracie LOVES, LOVES, LOVES our neighbor Mavian's dog, Diesel. She also LOVES her nephew Christian. They met last year at Christmas time. Christian lives in Miami, so they don't get to see each other very often. But when he comes to town, they have a blast together. Gracie talks about Diesel every day. I know you all must be thinking that we should get her a dog, but I just don't see it happening. Dogs are alot of work! My biggest concern is that we are NEVER home during the week and that poor dog would be left alone. Plus, I've never had a pet in my life (except that one time I had a dog for a week in my prior life! But, that doesn't count.) I don't really like dogs jumping or licking on me. BUT, this girl of mine has me wrapped around her little finger and I can totally see her wearing me down on this one.

A Visit with Family

We had a very nice surprise visit from my family this past weekend. My cousin John attends the Atlanta campus of the Savannah College of Art and Design. His dad, my paran (godfather), drove here last week to help move him into a new apartment. My parents rode up to Atlanta with my Aunt Nina to pick up my Uncle so that they could leave a vehicle here for John. It was a fast and furious visit. We didn't have nearly enough time to spend together! They got here at 3:15 a.m. on New Year's Day and left early Saturday morning. Hopefully, we can enjoy more time with them real soon. Our home is always open!

Gracie surely didn't want for any more attention this weekend.

Granny and Poppee And a trip here without LaParillia would surely be incomplete!
That kid makes out like a bandit when her grandparents visit!

As soon as we said Hello, they had to say Goodbye :(
We miss you already!

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas was very relaxing. We stayed in our PJs all day long! That is until we met the Johnsons for a movie that evening. I think this will be a new tradition for us. Here are a few pics of our day.

Opening her presents from Santa

"Okay, Mom. I will pose for this one last picture. Enough already".

I think she really likes it!

YAY! My first American Girl Doll, Mia.

Isn't she adorable?

Gracie and all her loot! These were all of her presents from Santa, grandparents and family. Not too shabby, eh?

Yes, she has a Littlest Pet Shop Village. Loads of fun to pick up!

She served us coffee and hot cocoa from her new Barbie coffee maker.

Oh and I got a pretty watch from Ron!

This picture pretty much sums up our day.
