On Sunday we made the trek to Burt's Pumpkin Farm and Amicolola Falls State Park! We were joined by the Defusco, Hillman and Lipani families. Our caravan included 4 cars holding 13 people (8 adults, 2 preschoolers, 1 toddler and 2 infants). Burt's Farm is in the secluded North Georgia Mountains. The drive there was long, but very scenic. Too bad the leaves had not yet turned.....that would have been gorgeous. Burt's farm had thousands of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, etc. The pictures really don't do it justice. It seemed like there were thousands of people there too!! Hence, we skipped the hayride.

Searching for the best pumpkin!
I found it! It's green with warts :)
I think this one's the winner.
Gracie and William with their baby pumpkins.
I thought this sign was pretty funny. Of course my daughter thinks she's 15.I tell ya, the girl has it made!

Our little pumpkins in the wheelbarrow

Gracie picked out a pumpkin for Mason and Emily too! Maren was catching up on her sleep.

I've been wanting to see the Amicalola Falls since we moved here 2 years ago. The Falls were really pretty. We were told that since Georgia is in a serious drought, the falls were not as plentiful as usual.
From the state park website:
"It's easy to see why this is one of Georgia's most popular state parks. Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning "tumbling waters," is an appropriate name for these 729-foot falls ~~ the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. An 8.5 mile approach trail leads from the park to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,135-mile Appalachian Trail."

**I noticed when we got home that my camera lens had a smudge on it. That's why there are random blurry spots in all the pictures.
What a great weekend we had!
